Duties and Responsibility: Neurosurgeons perform surgery on the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerves to remove tumors. They also relieve chronic pains and treat wounds.

Education: four years of medical school resulting a M.D or O.D. degree. You also need to complete one year of internship in general surgery. You’ll also need five to seven years in a neurosurgery residency program. Some neurosurgeons complete a fellowship after their residency to specialize in a particular area.
